Reza gave a good introduction and was able to answer using a wide variety of opening expressions. In addition, he spoke clearly and had good descriptive skills. Having said this, Reza now needs to work on articles as he tended to leave them out or use an incorrect one.

Ali  Kiyanizadeh

Ali could use articles well with nouns and had good pronunciation skills. However, he definitely needs to work on his grammar more because although he used articles correctly, he often put words in the wrong order, did not use linkers to join sentences and used past participle verbs in past simple sentences, such as, ‘I seen the Reader’.

Mohamad Mosavi

Mohamad used full sentences correctly and used superlative structures well. Furthermore, he used a wide range of vocabulary and used opinionative phrases well. He should work on his grammar more as there were some mistakes with prepositions, such as, ‘it depends to the surgery’.

Fatemeh Koshesh

Fatemeh had an excellent accent and came across as very fluent in English. Also, she used a variety of grammatical structures correctly, such as, conditionals and perfect tenses, and she could expand her answers easily. There were a few errors with words that began with ‘cl’ as she would pronounce it as ‘q’ and she made a ‘w’ sound for words beginning with a ‘v’.

Parisa Foroghiniya

Parisa spoke at a good pace and used appropriate language throughout. Furthermore, she could use examples to support her ideas and spoke in full sentences. However, she needs to work on her pronunciation more because there were a few mispronounced words, such as, ‘draw’ and ‘lipstick’.

Maryam Yosefi

Maryam gave quite a short introduction, but when asked individual questions she could use an advanced range of vocabulary, such as using idiomatic language as she said, ‘get off on the wrong foot’.  However, a few times Maryam listed her ideas instead of joining them together, so she should use linkers more.

Behnaz Pajohan

Behnaz was a pleasant candidate who could expand her answers. Also, she used good opening expression, such as, ‘I think’ and had good listening skills. However, she had a couple of pronunciation errors and sometimes she used articles incorrect, like ‘the children have’ when talking about them generally.

Jila Salari

Jila gave an excellent response to the question on gestures and she used suitable language throughout. Furthermore, she gave full responses every time and she could comprehend the majority of questions. Having said this, Jila should use contracted form more as this will help with her fluency, and she needs to work on past tense verb forms because when talking about a past event, she used a present verb.

Fahimeh Paran

Fahimeh could use a variety of structures and she was able to give fuller responses with good opening phrases. She needs to concentrate on her grammar more because there were some errors with third person verbs, like, ‘hotel have good service’ and she sometimes confused tenses.

Mandana Dornajafi

Mandana spoke at a good speed and gave a lot of information in her answers. Furthermore, she has good descriptive skills and could use personal examples well. There were a couple of issues with her comprehension of a question on gestures as she answered with information on small talk. Also, she used the present simple tense instead of the perfect tense, so she should look over this further.

Esmail Pakdaman

Esmail had good pronunciation skills and could use simple present and past sentences well. However, he needs to work on extending his answer by using examples or reasons as he often had to be asked extra questions to gain more details.

Shiva Badiei

Shiva gave a detailed introduction and used a wide range of vocabulary. Also, she used good phrases, such as, ‘it depends on’, and she has a good grasp of English grammar as she had excellent word order and used the correct verb pattern. Now Shiva should use more phrasal verbs and idiomatic language more and work on her intonation and stress more to improve her overall fluency.

Abdolah Vares

Abdolah had good listening skills as he was able to understand the majority of questions, also he had a few good ideas once he was asked additional questions to gain more information. He needs to work on extending his answer a lot more though and his grammar because when he struggled to put his ideas into complete sentences.

Faramarz javanmardi

Faramarz had some good ideas and used modal verbs correctly. He also used hand gestures to support his answer and he spoke at a good speed. However, he should work on his verbs further because he would sometimes use an inappropriate one or use ‘to’ after it when he should not have e.g. ‘I must to go’ and ‘I respect to have’.

Mehrdad Sheybani

Mehrdad used adverbs well and could comprehend all the questions with ease. Also, he could form present simple tenses correctly. He needs to work on his grammar a bit more because he missed the ‘s’ off third person verbs and when he was speaking in the past tense, he mistakenly used the past participle verb rather than the past simple one.

Zeynab Dehghani

Zeynab could talk in the present and past tense accurately and she was able to answer the majority of questions with good ideas and an array of vocabulary. Zeynab now needs to work on some grammar areas further because she missed out prepositions and placed adverbs of frequency in the wrong place, such as, ‘because always I like driving’.

Norosh  Hasanghasemi

Norosh had good ideas in her replies and used a good range of vocabulary. Furthermore, she used opening phrases well. However, she had a couple of problems with a few of the questions, so she should work on her listening. Also, Norosh should work on her grammar further as although she could form simple sentences, she often missed out a key word, such as a verb or pronouns.

Laila Mojab

Lailaused some excellent expressions in her answers, such as, ‘scaredy cat’ and she used a wide range of vocabulary throughout. Also, she could use a variety of tenses correctly in her sentences, including the future simple tense. Laila spoke very quickly at times, and although she did not make many mistakes, her speaking became less natural as she did not pause when she should have.

Noshin Farghadani

Noshin demonstrated a wide range of vocabulary as she was able to use appropriate language for each question, such as, ‘special effects’ and ‘film makers’ for questions relating to movies. Furthermore, she could form sentences in the present and past tense easily and she used good phrases, like, ‘I’m concerned about’. However, she should work on ways to extend her answers because had to be asked extra questions for more information, also, she should work on third person verbs as she often missed the ‘s’ off them.

Abdolah Alaei

Abdolah was a pleasant candidate and he had some good ideas for some of the questions, also, he used the present simple tense well. Having said this, he struggled with a lot of the questions and when asked to expand his answers he tried every time, but he was not able to put his ideas into complete sentences which made it harder to understand his responses. Therefore, he should work on his listening and grammar further to improve his overall mark next time.

Maryam  Golara

Maryam could give a lot of details when she fully understood a question and she could form simple complete sentences. Also, she used appropriate language and could use opening expressions to start her answers. There were a couple of issues with the harder questions, such as the one on ‘small talk’, and she was not able to comprehend ‘too violent’ so she should work on extending her vocabulary further to reduce this in the future.
