Also, he supported his answers with examples and used comparative adjectives fittingly. However, she occasionally used gerunds with infinitive verbs, such as, ‘I like to sleeping’ and used ‘don’t’ instead of the verb to ‘be’ as she said ‘people don’t friendly’. Finally, she pronounced ‘vacation’ as ‘vocation’.

Mehzad  Safaeiyan

Mehzad gave a good introduction about herself and her family. Furthermore, she was able to speak in simple sentences. Having said this, she needs to work on her listening and extend her vocabulary because she struggled a lot with many questions for level four due to the fact that she could not comprehend them, instead I had to ask her a few questions on her likes and dislikes. Also, she made some errors with word stress, such as, ‘exhibition’.

Mohamad Khaksar

Mohamad used good descriptive language and could use examples to support his ideas. Furthermore, he used prepositions correctly, especially with time and place and had good pronunciation. However, he tended to use the present continuous tense when talking about his routine and he used the indefinite article instead of the definite article as he said, ‘the suit’ instead of ‘a suit’. So he should work on his grammar a little more.

Ebrahim  Yaghoti

Ebrahim could speak in the present simple tense easily and demonstrated good listening skills as he was able the majority of his questions. Also, he used adverbs and adjectives well. However, he did mishear one or two questions and this resulted in an inappropriate answer being given. One example of this is when he was asked to describe his healthy habits, instead he defined ‘healthy habits’. Furthermore, he tended to use ‘I like... I like…’ rather than vary this verb, so he should try to use more synonyms.

Atekeh  Zahiriyan

Atekeh gave a very detailed introduction and this continued with her giving detailed responses throughout the interview. Furthermore, she used time expressions well and managed to rephrase many of her questions and could understand them easily. Having said this, she should work on her grammar more as she missed out ‘to’ after certain verbs and used auxiliary verbs with present simple sentences. Finally, she used singular nouns instead of a plural one, such as, ‘eight glass of water’.

Zahra  Khodami

Zahra spoke clearly and used a wide range of vocabulary in her answers. In addition, she could speak in the present simple tense well and formed short answers in various tense correctly. However, she made the occasional word order error as she said, ‘I often three times a week I exercise’. Also, she should try to use sequencers more to stage her responses better.

Parinaz  Motamedi

Parinaz demonstrated good listening skills and was able to give lengthy responses. Furthermore, she used she used suitable vocabulary throughout and supported her ideas with some examples. However, she needs to work on her grammar more because she missed the ‘s’ off third person verbs in positive sentences and did not follow some verbs with ‘to’ or use prepositions with some nouns for example, ‘I prefer relax vacations’.

Farnazeh  Yonesi

Farnazeh used the present simple tense correctly, especially when speaking about her typical day. Also, she could speak in full sentences using conjunctions suitably. However, she sometimes used both present and past simple verbs in the same sentences, such as, ‘when I was at home I wear casual clothes’; and she was not able to comprehend some questions until they were paraphrased, so she ought to work on her listening slightly.

Manila  Kiyamarsi

Manila gave an in-depth introduction and used personal examples to support what she was saying. In addition, she could speak in both the present and past simple tense and used sequencers well. Having said this, she made a couple of mistakes when giving an appropriate answer due to her mishearing a question. For example, when she was asked about what she wore at college, she replied with what she did at college instead. Finally, she missed out auxiliary verbs once or twice.

Zahra  Norozi

Zahra could use ‘going to’ when talking about future plans properly and extended her sentences with adverbs and time expressions. Furthermore, she could use various modal verbs when talking about possible problems when on a vacation and she used some advanced phrases, including ‘it depends on’. However, she sometimes missed definite articles off nouns and used ‘to’ with a gerund, so she should work on her grammar more.

Kosha  Ayobzadeh

Kosha spoke clearly and could use sequencing words correctly. In addition, he used an array of words and had good stress of words. Having said this, he needs to work on his listening a little because he struggled to comprehend ‘dress code’ and needed a lot of help with this question. Finally, he did not use a gerund when talking about what he likes as he said, ‘I like play Billiards’.

Elnaz  Dehghan

Elnaz could use a variety of advanced expressions well, such as, ‘I don’t know if you’ve heard’. Furthermore, she formed conditionals and modal structures correctly; and could use phrasal verbs suitably. However, she occasionally missed out articles and missed an ‘s’ off a few plural nouns, so she ought to work on her grammar slightly.

Arsalan spoke at a good pace with excellent pronunciation skills as he used stress and intonation perfectly which resulted in him sounding quite fluent. Furthermore, he could comprehend all of his questions easily and could talk at length using advanced structures without many grammatical mistakes, and if he did make an error with his choice of word, he would correct it immediately. However, once or twice he used a singular verb instead of a plural one, for example, ‘the things was accepted’ and he should try to reduce the amount of times he says ‘gonna’ and instead use synonyms.

Shima  Dopeykar

Shima used frequency adverbs correctly and used a wide range of vocabulary in her answers. Furthermore, she had very good listening skills because she could comprehend the majority of questions easily and she spoke in full sentences. However, she would often pronounce her ‘v’s as ‘w’s such as, ‘wery’ and ‘wocation’. Finally, she added auxiliary verbs to some of her present simple sentences, for example, ‘I’m exercise…’.

Shayan  Namazifard

Shayan could speak in simple sentences and stress words correctly. Also, he attempted to answer all of his questions. However, he struggled to comprehend a lot of them so many of them had to be rephrased. Also, he used adjectives when it should have been the noun form, for example, ‘live in English or Swedish’. Finally, he needs to work on extending his vocabulary as he was only able to use a limited amount.

Ehsan  Salehi

Ehsan could use opinionative language well and used numerous examples to support his answers. Furthermore, he used a wide range of vocabulary and formed word collocations correctly. However, he could not understand present perfect questions or used a present simple form when it should have been the present perfect.
