Level 5, group 1&2
1) Fataneh Mohamad poor
Fataneh showed a good range of vocab in order to answer the questions well. She also demonstrated the ability to self-correct her grammar when she made mistakes, for example, she corrected “it show” to “it shows…”She made some simple grammar mistakes such as 3rd person singular ‘it mean…’ and didn’t use the past tense all the time when talking about her holiday. She didn’t understand the meaning of ‘abroad’, but she was able to answer all the other questions very well.
2) Ahmad Sayaad niya
Ahmad gave full answers and used lots of vocab, talking freely about various topics. He gave lots of examples in his answers and showed a high level of grammar, and successfully corrected himself when he made mistakes. Some problems with relative clauses, for example, “I’ve already done things that they were dangerous.”
3) Raha Asad Sangaabi
Raha was able to answer all the questions and used the idiom ‘get off on the wrong foot’ well. One vocab problem was “… it’s important how to behaviour there.” Raha needs to prepare longer answers.
4) Mohamad Mehdi Emami Meybodi
Mohamad tried hard to answer questions. He started very well and spoke well about conversation and his holiday. However, later on he lost fluency. Some grammar mistakes-for example, “it was beautiful places” instead of “place” and describing the hotel he said, “I want anything, because anything is important”. Here he needed to use “everything”. For more marks you need to plan your answers.
5) Sara Shahriyari– absent.
6) Parya Oji
Parya started off sounding very confident and had a good introduction. Her answers to the questions were not well prepared, so she lost marks. There were some problems understanding the questions and some problems in grammar, such as “I have been to Dubai since last year” and “ before you go to the travel you must…”.
7) Masood Bakhshizadeh
Masood spoke really well, using good, full sentences and speaking fluently about the various topics. He used impressive words, such as “customary” and “appropriate”. One grammatical error with relative clause, “…a lot of beautiful gardens that they are good to visit.” No need to use the pronoun ‘they’.
8) Mehrshad Shamsi
Mehrshad was able to understand and answer the questions, but he was unprepared so couldn’t answer the questions well. Mehrshad showed grammatical errors in the past tense, “ When I’m little I travelled to Kuwait.”
9) Sara Zare
Sara was very well prepared, and gave lots of information in her answers. She spoke freely, clearly and confidently. I liked Sara’s answer to question 3, as it was different to others’ answers. Problem with relative clause, “I have a sister that she’s younger than me”-don’t use the pronoun “she”. Otherwise, she had wonderful grammar.
10) Arman Saadat
Arman was able to understand and answer the question quite well. He corrected himself when he made mistakes, which was good. For example, “ my father don’t let me”-he changed it to “my father doesn’t let me…”. Some problems with past tense, such as “Have you been to Italy?” “No I don’t”, and “ I don’t try it”, instead of present perfect, “I haven’t tried it.”
11) Marziyeh Ghorban Zadeh
Marziyeh had a good introduction, but then she found it difficult to understand the questions, especially number 5 and 12. Grammar problems, such as “I went interesting and sightseeing”, and “if you come to Iran I wear covering”. Marziyeh should have used “I would” or “I should”.
12)Ilhaz Ardalan
Ilhaz was well prepared and was able to talk easily and confidently without pauses. She spoke with lots of appropriate vocabulary and her grammar was excellent. There were some minor errors such as “religion places”, instead of “religious places”, and “a lot of service”, instead of the plural, “services”. Ilhaz didn’t understand the meaning of “abroad” . Although she gave a good description of her holiday, she needs to be careful to answer the question.. I didn’t ask why it was important to go abroad. I just asked, “Have you been abroad?”
13)Mina Barzegar
Mina attempted to answer all the questions; however, her answers were too short. Instead of answering, ‘no’, Mina should give more explanation in her answers.
Some grammar problems such as using an article with countries, “I like to go to the Canada,” and 3rd person singular, “my brother live in Canada.”
14) Mahsa Sarkobi
Mahsa was able to talk easily and confidently, and she showed the capability of turning the answers into a conversation, by asking me a question too. Be careful that you don’t make simple mistakes in your introduction, such as “I’m architect” (make sure you use the indefinite article ‘an’), and “2 childs in my family” (plural ‘children’).
15) Ayda Zafarkhah
Ayda was able to answer all the questions at a basic level, but was unprepared, so answers were short. Ayda did not understand question 15. Grammar problems included: “we aren’t talk about salary” (use ‘shouldn’t, or ‘don’t), “I go to China…” (missed out ‘if’ at the beginning’), “the people was friendly” (should be ‘were’).
16)Farimaah Asadi
Farimaah anwered questions very well, giving lots of information and using lots of appropriate vocabulary. She made a good attempt at a present perfect sentence; the first part was correct, but she made a mistake by using ‘for’ instead of ‘since’- “I have played for 12 years old.” Farimaah spoke fluently, but needs to improve her grammar. Other mistakes: “I’m playing handball and violin” (needs to use present simple, “I play”), “I like to Paris, I’d like to Greece…” (make sure you always use “I’d”, and include ‘go’, for example, ‘I’d like to go to Paris.”).
17)Hadi Jafari
Hadi answered fairly well- he used appropriate vocabulary, was able to speak fairly freely and grammar was average. He corrected his grammar mistakes during the conversation, which was good. Be careful not to use plural with “staff” and “location”. Also be careful with past tense-you said , “I’ve an accident for about 2 years ago.”-you should say, “I had an accident about 2 years ago.” Good attempt though!
18)Parviz Rezaei
Parviz was very well prepared and his grammar was good, especially the use of the present perfect. Something to improve is: try to answer in full sentences.
19) Zohre Hushmandi
Zohre spoke freely and gave good, long answers. Vocab was of a high standard, for example she used the phrase, “it depends on…” and describing Shiraz she said, “it’s a mountainous city.” Be careful with some words, for example, “pool swimming” should be “swimming pool”, and “in the home” should be “at home”. Be careful with past tense. You said, “I’ve been in Malaysia for 7 months last year.” You need to use simple past, “I was in Malaysia for 7 months last year.”
20)Mona Shirazi
Mona answered questions to a high standard and conversed naturally. Vocabulary was good, for example, when describing hotel staff she said they should be “attentive”. Be careful with adverbs-she said, “3 months later I went to Germany” (it should be “3 months ago…”
21)Hamid Mortezaei
Hamid gave lots of explanation in his answers and provided facts, which boosted his mark, such as “70% of communication is gestures”, and “people in the North like a firm handshake”. Be careful with 3rd person singular, “my brother work in Dubai” should be “my brother works in Dubai.”
22) Eshaagh Akbari
Eshaagh was well prepared and was able to answer questions quickly. He gave lots of information, but his grammar lost him marks. He made mistakes especially in the tenses. For example, “2 years ago I driving” should be “2 years ago I was driving.” Also “if the people did not see him for a long time they hugging”, should be “if people do not see each other for a long time they hug”. Be careful with your grammar!
