Eman Sajadi Eman used some good emphasis phrases and used appropriate language, such as ‘should’ when giving advice. The major problem was that he needed prompting to gain a fuller answer and also listed at times rather than forming complete sentences. Also, he should use synonyms to reduce repetition of words.
Mitira Bakhshesh
Mitira gave a good introduction and used some excellent vocabulary, like ‘table manners’. Also, she tried to personalise her answers and used good opening phrases/expressions. There were a couple of slight pronunciation errors with her ‘ns’ as ‘vs’ and she should try to use sequence words to structure her response better.
Payeb Sharifi Payeb used opening phrases well and was at time quite descriptive, he was a clear and controlled speaker and shown an ability to understand quite complex questions. Although, he struggled with other questions and needed to expand on some of his responses more, in addition to this, he should try and use pronouns more as he kept repeating ‘Cuba’ rather than using an appropriate pronoun.
Payman Jalili Payman gave a short introduction, but was pleasant with his answers. He did self-correct himself, which is good to see and his pronunciation skills were of a good level. However, he made a lot of grammatical errors and struggled to understand a lot of the questions due to a lack of knowledge. He needs to use linkers as well because this will result in him giving complete responses rather than broken down ones.
Sara Baryanavar
Sara gave a good introduction and came across as a competent speaker of English. She also demonstrated some excellent descriptive skills as well as detailed responses. I would advise her to work on using pronouns more and to be careful with ‘cl’ pronunciation as for the word ‘clean’, she said ‘quean’. Overall an excellent performance.
Zahar Zareizade Zahar had excellent pronunciation skills and was able to use phrasal verbs in her answers, which is good to see. She had some good ideas and used comparative language well. There were a few occasions when she misunderstood a couple of her questions, so she should work on her listening skills to improve her overall grade.
Azam Khosravi
Azam gave a rather in-depth introduction, but failed to do the same with the other questions that followed. She had a wide range of vocabulary, but is unable to use them appropriately. Also, she had some good ideas, although she was only able to list them because she did not use linkers to join them together, I would advise her to work on this area in particular to up her mark next time.
Alireza Heidarpanah
Alireza gave a much fuller introduction in comparison to other candidates. He was able to use some good contrasting expressions, for example, ‘on the other hand’ and he demonstrated an excellent range of vocabulary. The only thing that let him down was the length of his responses; he should try to back up his ideas by giving reasons next time.
Hossein Keivani
Hossein was a controlled speaker and pleasant to chat with. He gave some good ideas at times and used some appropriate language when doing so. He should try and work on his stress and intonation because at times he was stressing the wrong syllable. Also, he should look at articles because he often said ‘the people’ rather than just ‘people’.
Mohamabriza Keshavarz
Mohamabriza gave some good examples to support his answers and was able to use opening expressions well when beginning his response. There were, however, some grammar mistakes as he used the incorrect tense on a couple of occasions, so I would encourage him to look at this area in particular.
