Interview Feedback Level 8 Group 53
Pariya Khoshkho
Pariya spoke at a natural pace and had good intonation. She used a range of structures including modal verbs and conditionals accurately. Also, she could comprehend the majority of her questions easily and used a wide range of vocabulary. Although her oral skills were of a very good level, she constantly mispronounced words which had a ‘v’ in them, for example ‘wisuals’ and ‘ewacuate’. In addition, she added an ‘s’ to some past simple verbs when referring to third person and she used the past simple when the present perfect was necessary.
Keyhan Karami
Keyhan understood his questions, used a range of opening expressions well and used adjectives in their various forms correctly. He was able to use suitable lexis such as ‘double standards’ and could personalise his questions. However, he should work on his listening skills slightly, in particular with questions words as he answered about what books her preferred instead of when he preferred to. Also, he used the wrong form a verb a couple of times and mispronounced a few words like ‘thriller’.
Elham Dehghani Por
Elham could comprehend her questions with ease and used a range of structures correctly, including 2nd conditional and relative clauses. Furthermore, she used a wide range of vocabulary like ‘curl up with a book’ and was very descriptive. She should work on her tenses a little further because she used the present simple not present perfect a few times as she said, ‘it make life easier’, not ‘it’s made life easier’. Also, she made several errors with plural nouns as she would miss the ‘s’ off them, and used an incorrect word form.
Fatemeh Monajati
Fatemeh had excellent pronunciation and vocabulary, plus she was able to use various structures accurately like 2nd conditional and correct verb patterns. Also, she could give personal examples to support her ideas and constantly gave detailed replies. Although she used one or two opening expressions, she would benefit from using more to start her replies. Furthermore, she used ‘very’ to emphasis adjectives instead of ‘much’, for example ‘it makes it very easier’. Finally, she was not able to comprehend her 3rd conditional questions, so she should work on her grammar more.
Omid reza Gholami
Omidreza used some excellent opening phrases to begin his answers and demonstrated good listening and comprehension skills. He spoke in full sentences throughout and used adverbs correct and a good range of vocabulary. Having said this, he misheard one of his questions on what young people read as he gave a subjective response about what he read, not other. Furthermore, he missed off an ‘s’ with plural nouns and possessive nouns, also, he should try to develop his answers more with extra details or examples.
Mojtaba Roin ahli
Mojtaba could understand his questions with ease and was able to speak in a variety of tenses well. He used a range of structures accurately and used a good range of lexis like ‘I’m crazy about Harry Potter’. However, he ought to work on his pronunciation as he said ‘read’ instead of ‘red’. Also, he used an incorrect auxiliary verb to use the past passive and missed out the ‘s’ off plural nouns and third person verbs.
Mehdi Dastfard
Mehdi was able to use the 1st conditional properly and used an appropriate amount of vocabulary such as ‘casualty’ and ‘curl up’. He could understand each of his questions well and spoke clearly and controlled. He was able to use a lot of examples to respond, but could not develop his ideas to go alongside them, which resulted in lots of examples, but not enough depth to his replies. Also, he used singular quantifiers with plural nouns and was unsure of his question on how tourism could damage the environment.
Mohammad reza Karami
Mohammadreza gave detailed answers throughout and used excellent descriptive language. He spoke at a natural pace. Also, he had very good listening skills as he could understand his questions and respond automatically and had good grammar as he used a range of structures. He made a couple of errors with prepositions as he said, ‘kind about tourists’, not ‘kind to…’. Furthermore, he would benefit from using more opening expressions or idiomatic language and missed out the auxiliary verb when using the passive voice. Finally, he used the wrong verb once or twice like ‘can be the people lazy’, not ‘can make…’.
Poriya Bahrami
Poriya was able to understand most of his questions and attempted to answer each one with simple sentences. He used some conjunctions accurately and used one or two sequencing words like ‘after that’. He needs to work on his grammar more, however, as he would use the present continuous tense to talk about the past and used the auxiliary verb to ‘be’ in present simple sentences, for example ‘I’m get up at 7 o’clock’. Furthermore, he missed out indefinite articles and was unsure of a few questions due to the key lexis, so he ought to expand this more.
